Board Member Spotlight: Lynn Black

Earlier this year, we began introducing you to some of the faces behind Fight For Life Foundation. We’re excited to continue highlighting our board members who’s contributions and valueable insight make Fight For Life what it is today. We’ve asked each of our board members to share their experience with Fight For Life – read below to get to know Lynn! You can also read about past board members here.

My name is Mr. Lynn Black and I’m the President of Lynn Black Education Solutions. I’ve lived in Indianapolis most of my life.

How did you hear about or get connected to Fight For Life?

FFL Founder Marlin Jackson married my niece, Nikki, and shared with me his vision for the Foundation. Since I have a background in Education, I was happy to come on board as a Director.

What do you love about Fight For Life?

Many things; a focus on underrepresented students in our schools, offering many mentors to kids through Marlin and the volunteers he works with, and the school curriculum that focuses on the social emotional and character development for K – 12 students.

Do you have any favorite events or memories?

Fright Night is a highlight of mine each year and continues to get better and better. With the silent auction items, contributions made from guests, as well as the outlandish costumes that are displayed and recognized each year – it’s a great event!

In 10 years you see Fight For Life…

In an office building with an Executive Director and staff supporting Marlin’s vision and continued focus on making a difference with today’s youth.  An organization that has 50 to 100K students participating in Fight for Life Programs.
