Building Dreams Bowl – Volunteerism
Fight For Life is excited to partner with Saturday Evening Post to incorporate the Building Dreams program within their U.S. Kids Jack and Jill magazine. Jack and Jill magazine is a national children’s magazine for kids ages 6-12 that has over 40,000 subscribers. Each page is designed to spark a child’s curiosity through articles, games, and activities. Fight For Life will be featured in a yearlong series that will focus on how to build character through fun tips, activities, and stories. This opportunity will provide national exposure for Fight For Life and the Building Dreams program!
Each issue will focus on the following topics:
- Jan/Feb – Love
- March/April – Respect
- May/June – Gratitude
- July/Aug – Volunteerism
- Sept/Oct – Perseverance
- Nov/Dec – How all the topics come together to help you build your dreams!
How to Participate: Readers can complete and mail in the clipboard section from the magazine to Jack and Jill, P.O. Box 88928, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Make sure to include the participant’s name, age, state, and photo. All submissions become the property of U.S. Kids. Kids who don’t receive the magazine can also participate by completing and submitting this downloadable form.
Prizes: All participants receive an autographed picture of Marlin Jackson. One winner from each issue will be named by Coach Jackson to the 2017 Dream Team and receive a swag bag containing a keychain, water bottle, and sunglasses. Coach Marlin’s MVP, chosen from the Dream Team, will win an NFL jersey of his or her choice. The Most Valuable Player will be named on October 15, 2017.
Our Current Topic: In our July/August issue, we focus on volunteering: doing work in the community without getting paid to do it. Marlin’s Motto: “Always do what you can, when you can! When I was growing up I learned that when you’re in need it can feel as if no one cares, so it makes you feel special when someone wants to donate their time or money to help you.” His questions for readers: Where do you volunteer? Why do you volunteer?
