Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): Impact On Brain, Body and Behaviour

This video on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) talks about how a child’s brain develops when different types of stresses are introduced into a child’s life. Positive stress such as starting daycare for the first time or meeting a new friend helps teach a child good coping skills leading to the healthy development of a child’s brain. When negative stresses (ACEs) are introduced to a child such as abuse, neglect, and violence, that leads to unhealthy brain development in a child over time.

At Fight for Life, we focus on developing Social and Emotional skills development in kids to help their brains to develop in a positive way so that they are prepared to take on life’s challenges. This mission is critical to Fight for Life. Helping kids to develop the skills necessary to navigate life is what we are about.
