Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is vitally important to a child’s development into adulthood. The skills they learn early on will impact every part of their lives, from the relationships they have to how successful they are in school and the world of business. The importance of helping kids early in their lives cannot be overstated. That is why the Fight for Life Foundation was created. Our goal is to help underserved youth develop Social-Emotional Skills that give them a fighting chance to grow up and impact our communities in a positive way.
I have included this podcast in which Brene Brown interviews Dr. Marc Bracket. Dr. Marc Brackett has dedicated his life to studying emotions and helping others learn what he has. In this episode, he talks about how emotional literacy – being able to recognize, name, and understand our feelings – affects everything from learning, decision making, and creativity, to relationships, health, and performance. I would recommend taking the time to listen. What he has learned impacts us all. And don’t be surprised if you learn a little bit about yourself as well.
