Fight For Life Foundation Presents “Be A Blessing” 2018 Campaign

Fight For Life Foundation is excited to present our annual “Be A Blessing” campaign for the 2018 Holiday season. Be A Blessing is an event based program that supports families with students who have participated in our Building Dreams program. It’s all about reaching out a hand to those in need, helping to encourage children to stay on the right path, and helping parents provide what their children need. Whether it’s through field trips that expose children to new environments, or providing basic supplies needed for back to school, or providing a memorable Christmas experience for a family that wouldn’t have otherwise had one. To put it simply, our intention is to be a blessing to those in need!

Our Buildling Dreams programs stewards to children in the academic aspect by allowing them to develop the social emotional characteristics they need in order to be successful in life. We guide youth through character development and self-exploration programs along with physical wellness activities, we develop well rounded individuals that can contribute to society in a positive manner. Exposing students to these different environments and rewarding positive behavior helps reinforce the teachings of our Buildling Dreams program.

Take a deeper look into the special things we’re up to this Holiday season:

Be A Blessing Toy Drive:

This year, Fight For Life will be a blessing by collecting toys for more than 722 underserved K-6 scholars at the George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academies of Indianapolis. All of these students are currently participating in our Building Dreams program. We will collect toys and accept monetary donations to go towards school supplies and toys. The collection will start on November 26th and run through December 14th.

Indianapolis Field Trip:

Marlin Jackson will host a group of sixth graders from his hometown elementary school Musser Elementary in Sharon, Pennsylvania for an annual weekend field trip to Indianapolis. Students from Musser Elementary have made the trip for the past eight years as part of our Be A Blessing program. These students come from an underserved environment that is filled with drugs, neglect, and a generational curse of being born into unfair circumstances. Through experiences that most take for granted, we create life changing moments that inspire kids to reach beyond the confines of their envrionment. Students will experience a Inidana Pacers basketball game, gaming at the Microsoft store, pampering at Paul Mitchell Salon, recreational activities at Incrediplex, dinner at Sullivan’s Steakhouse, visiting Salesforce, receive Christmas gifts from Walmart, and have a hotel stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel. This trip is simply a blessing!

Christmas Parties:

Fight For Life Foundation will host Christmas parties at the George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academy and PLA 103 again in 2018 as part of an annual event to serve the children who take part in Building Dreams. Toys from our annual toy drive will go to these students who wouldn’t otherwise receive anything for Christmas. We’ll also enjoy a pizza party, games, and activities from Jack and Jill Magazine. Marlin Jackson will also be present to speak to the kids about his own personal story, from growing up in hard circumstances to where he is now, and will learn from him how to persevere against their odds.
