Anna Sutter
Director of Program Management
Anna Sutter is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in education, counseling, and advocacy. A lifelong Indiana resident, Anna earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Butler University, where she focused on research and presented her work at eight national academic conferences. She also served as President of the university’s College Mentors for Kids chapter.
After earning her Master’s in School Counseling from Butler, Anna spent nearly five years as a middle school counselor, primarily working with students in grades 6-8. Her student-centered, data-driven approach to counseling helped her contribute to the success of an award-winning comprehensive counseling program recognized by the Indiana Department of Education. Anna also actively advocated for youth rights, testifying before the Indiana House and Senate Education Committees.
In 2022, Anna transitioned out of the school system and began sharing her experiences online, discussing the challenges of burnout, underfunding, and the undervaluing of school counselors. Her powerful insights caught national attention, with coverage from The New York Times, Bloomberg Business, Chalkbeat National, and local media outlets such as the Indiana Capital Chronicle.
Later that year, Anna joined the Fight for Life Foundation as Director of Program Management. In this role, she has contributed to strengthening the foundation’s programs and operations by gathering feedback from educators, identifying and filling gaps, and using data to enhance engagement and drive impact. Anna looks forward to what the future holds for the organization and enjoys collaborating with such a dedicated team.
Outside of her professional work, Anna runs a graphic design business, participates in local community groups, and is exploring creative writing. She lives in Fountain Square, Indianapolis, with her partner and three cats.
