Musser Elementary Field Trip
December 14 at 8:00 am - December 16 at 5:00 pm
The Fight for Life Foundation will host sixth graders from Musser Elementary of Sharon, PA the weekend of Dec. 14th. This is the Elementary school of former Indianapolis Colt Marlin Jackson. Students from this school have made the trip to Indianapolis for the past 9 years as a part of FFLF’s Be A Blessing program. These students participate in Fight for Life’s social emotional development program, “Building Dreams.”
“The only way to change a child’s perspective is to expanding their view”
-FFLF President Marlin Jackson
This has been the aim of the Fight for Life Foundation when it comes to the sixth graders at Musser Elementary. These children come from an underserved environment that is filled with drugs, neglect and a generational curse of being born into unfair circumstances. We strive to encourage and expand the view of these children by exposing them to aspects of life they’ve only seen on TV. Most of these children have never left the city of Sharon, PA; this may be the only time they leave the city. This is why this trip is not only important to them, but to the entire elementary school. You see every child is waiting, biding his or her time until they reach the sixth grade and get to experience a different view. The view that we provide, a view of hope and inspiration so they dream big and not let their environment dictate who they become in a negative way. Through experiences most take for granted, Indiana Pacers game, recreational activities at Incrediplex, pampering at Paul Mitchell Salon, a visit to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Christmas gifts from Walmart and a hotel stay at Drury Plaza Hotel, we create life changing moments that inspire kids to reach beyond the confines of their environment. This trip is simply a blessing!
The children of Musser Elementary are in need, in need of hope, in need of dreams, in need of people like us to help them reach their hopes and dreams.
We must help these children and others like them Fight for a better life!
They must Dream…Believe…Because they can Achieve!
