Fight For Life Foundation - Winning Big in 2022!

The Fight For Life Foundation team recently spent time intentionally reflecting on the biggest lessons and wins that we experienced as an organization during 2022 in an effort to pause, give thanks for the opportunities we’ve had, and build excitement for all that is yet to come for the impact this organization is positioned to make in the coming year. To say that we left that session energized is an understatement!

We wanted to share just a few of our insights and wins with you, the people who have walked this journey with us and have continued to support us in so many ways.

People:

• We got Anna Sutter, our Director of Program Management, on our team! Anna brings a wealth of experience directly from education to our team. Anna, we are SO lucky to have you!
• We’ve connected with other passionate organizations to increase our impact, both in schools and through other areas of opportunity. It seems like every day we get connected to another great person or organization that shares our mission for supporting students, educators, and families.
• Putting people first through our service-focused approach to supporting Building Dreams, is what is differentiating us from other Edtech products and SaaS offerings in general. Our Building Dreams platform and technology is awesome, but how we walk beside our clients every step of the way is what really makes it special.

Product:

• We continue to build the Building Dreams platform, and our service model, by listening to what educators really need and want and letting that drive and prioritize our product roadmap. We build for them.
• We build with inclusivity in mind. In addition to creating a Spanish version of the platform and having our documents translated into different languages, we have also partnered with Luna Language Services to provide real-time live translation services to facilitate communication between educators and families.
• We’ve enhanced our data dashboard feature, Culture Report Card, and Data Summarization Report tools to create easy-to-understand and timely data insights to teachers and administrators. This allows them to make data-driven decisions in their buildings and provide their students with the exact support they need when they need it.
• We leverage Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies to maintain a cutting edge and highly effective platform both now, and in the future.

Impact:

• We continue to grow the number of sites and students we serve and have expanded into supporting other youth development organizations, including youth sports and scouting-related programs. We expect to double the number of sites we serve in 2023.
• We are actively involved in efforts to support pro-student legislation and policy.
• We, along with our partners at Butler and Indiana Universities, continue to contribute to meaningful education-related research and were awarded best paper at both the Midwest and International levels by the Decision Sciences Institute Conference 2022 for the Paper titled: Revealing underlying factors of absenteeism: A machine learning approach (Bowen et al., 2022).
